No Woodbine Market this year.

Just learned that there will not be a Woodbine Farmer’s Market this year. The market was not in our neighborhood but it was nearby. I know several neighbors supported the the market.

Woodbine Market Announcement

The Woodbine Farmers Market will not be open for the 2012 season. Unfortunately, the Market did not have enough regular customers last season to feasibly maintain a full season Market this year. “As we look into the future, we are hopeful that the Market will be able to re-open with great community support as early as next year” says Market Manager Mary Crimmins.

Brush Pick up has started.

The brush collection trucks are already in the neighborhood. There’s one on the Trousdale end of Lynn near the construction and another off of Elysian Fields.  It’s the last-minute to add to your brush pile.

Kroger update

Kroger is getting pretty bare most the refrigerated goods are gone. They have reduced their hours to 6am-7pm.

Brush Collection begins next week.

Brush and Leaf Collection pick-up starts Feb 8.

Calwell Abbay is in area 6. 2012 collection dates are Feb 8 2012, June 12 2012, third pick up is usually mid-late October.

“Residents in Metro Nashville’s Urban and General Services Districts have their brush and yard waste collected three times a year on a rotation schedule along 12 routes. Instead of chippers, Metro Public Works uses knuckle boom trucks equipped with a mechanical arm that lifts brush piles up and into a trailer that’s pulled behind the truck.

  1. Put brush out before the first day the trucks are scheduled to be in your Area.
  2. Place your brush where your garbage is collected – at the curb if your trash is collected there or in the alley if you have alley trash collection
  3. Leaves and grass clippings can be put out with your limbs and other brush in brown paper bags ONLY. Plastic bags will not be accepted.

Next pick up is June 12 2012.

Night road closures have begun.

Night closures have begun on Trousdale drive between Timber Hill road and Lynn dr. This section of Trousdale will be closed 6pm-7am Sunday through Thursday nights.

Other news, a new pizza place is coming. Papa Murphy’s is moving into the old Quizno’s building near Wal-greens. It’s a take and bake pizza. No word on when it opens.

New Kroger Hours

As reported a couple weeks ago our neighborhood Kroger is closing. I just go back from a grocery run and noticed they have new hours. The have reduced their hours to 6 AM-9 PM. I’m already missing the convenience of a last miniute Kroger run.

Contruction was set to begin this week on Troudasle between Timber Hill Rd and Lynn Dr. Apparently the weather is delaying the road work. Please keep in mind there may be large construction equipment parked near the entrance to Lynn or Timber Hill rd.

And speaking of the weather, I’ve added the weather channel widget to this blog and the main site.
