Proposed Amendment to the Southeast Community Plan

The next meeting is VERY important. Metro Planning Department is hosting a meeting on Monday, August 23rd from 6:00 – 7:00 pm to explain what they are proposing.

In response to a request from the property owner of 444 Lynn Drive to change zoning for his property, the planning Department is responding with a proposed amendment to the Southeast Community Plan. The areas they want to change are on Trousdale from Elysian Fields Road to Blackman Road and on Harding from Trousdale to Wauford. The request would change the land use policy from Suburban Neighborhood Maintenance (T3 NM) to Transition Policy and possible strategic areas of Suburban Neighborhood Center (T3 NC) policy. The changes will not actually change the zoning of the properties but it would allow future zoning changes.

The amendment is identified as 2021CP-012-002. You can learn more at https://maps.nashville.gov/DevelopmentTracker/.

Attending the virtual meeting on Monday is the most important way to have your voice heard.

But you should also share your thoughts with:

We suggest that between now and Monday at 3 pm that you email Anna Grider and carbon copy our Metro Council representative Courtney Johnston (and feel free to copy CAHNA at cahna37211@gmail.com). Please use this subject line “Southeast Community Plan Proposed Amendment 2021CP-012-002” or something similar. And in the body of the email share your thoughts on the proposed changes.

Go to this website to join the meeting on Monday: https://www.nashville.gov/departments/planning/events/community-meeting-discuss-southeast-plan-changes-virtual.

After Monday’s meeting, the next step in the process is for the amendment to go before the Planning Commission. It is currently on the agenda for the September 9th Planning Commission meeting. There will be another email from CAHNA about that meeting after Monday.
