Nolensville pike K-mart is closing

News 2 reports that the Nolensville Pike K-mart store will be closing early next year.

South Nashville Kmart to close in January

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –
The Kmart store located at 4095 Nolensville Pike in south Nashville will close in mid-January.

The store will begin its liquidation sale on October 27.

The closure is part of Kmart’s effort to reduce ongoing expenses.

In a statement, Howard Riefs , a spokesperson for Sears Holdings, said, “The store closures are part of a series of actions we’re taking to reduce ongoing expenses, adjust our asset base, and accelerate the transformation of our business model. These actions will better enable us to focus our investments on serving our customers and members through integrated retail – at the store, online and in the home.”

The Nolensville Pike store has 57 employees.

They will have an opportunity to apply for positions at other Kmart and Sears store.
